What is the reason behind your school’s name?

Sonwabile means ‘We are happy’. It is a place for children to learn and be happy.

What are you grateful for about your school?

I am grateful that my school has different cultures’ children – from South Africa and neighbouring countries. We are proud of it, because it gives us the opportunity to learn from other cultures outside our country and, also to learn other languages.
We are grateful, because we create job opportunities for the people of our community.

Objectives

to promote a safe place for children between the age of 0-5 years
to make children feel that they are part of the good citizens in the society
to promote a healthy development lifestyle for both parents and their children from a very young age
to educate parents on how to prevent childhood accidents and other related preventative diseases
to provide a stimulating playtime environment for children
to provide care, guidance and lifelong education to children
to network with other organisations working to promote the rights of children
train children on leadership, problem solving and communication skills so that they can report any illegal act that might jeopardise their lives during and after school as well as in their locations
to work in collaboration with organisations that mainly deal in ECD’s
to expose them to a challenging, informal, stimulating and safe learning environment
we will strive to do everything to the best of our abilities
we can also be open to any criticism
we promise to deliver excellent service in all areas of cleanliness, education and love
we have a passion to work with children who love children and will see to the need of every child individually
we can also work under extreme pressure and have excellent communication skills
