What is the reason behind your crèche's name?

A sunflower is always looking at the sun as its source of energy and it is always standing tall. So are we looking at our Source of energy and always standing tall. A sunflower is also a happy colour. Our children are still small, like flower buds.

What are you grateful for about your crèche?

• growth – we expanded to the garage
• the teachers and good relationships with the parents
• the positivity of and hunger in the children
• the peace we have, because we use the time God gives us wisely

Vision

Sunflower Educare exists for the holistic development of Delft's children while also empowering the parents by continuation to form a supportive partnership with the child and teacher.

Sunflower Educare aims to be a facility that reaches across socio-economic divides to bring quality education to the children of Delft to the betterment of our society as a whole.

Mission

• to promote and provide a safe learning space for children between the ages of 1 and 6
• to promote a healthy development lifestyle for both parents and their children
• to provide care and guidance, while stimulating a desire for lifelong learning in children
• to train children in servant leadership, problem solving, and communication skills
• to network and collaborate with other organizations working to promote the holistic well-being of the child

What extra services do you offer to the children of your crèche?

• transport to and from the crèche
• daily meals (breakfast + lunch) during crèche hours

What are the most important needs/prayer requests regarding your crèche right now?

Thank God for:

• providing us with another teacher who knows the curriculum we are using.
• providing a printer so that we can print all the work the children need to do.
• a person that now helps us with the process of registering our crèche at the Dep. of Education for the sake of funding.
• progress w. r. t. the crèche’s building plans in the municipality’s system.

Pray for:

• the finances of the crèche. There are still some of the parents falling in arrears with their payments.
• wisdom to accommodate, as a Christian-based ECD centre, children from families with other religious beliefs to install godly knowledge into our children as well as their parents.
• wisdom in having a holistic approach where we not only help the children at our school, but also their parents where needed.
• the crèche’s leaking roof to be fixed.
• a bigger plot/place for our crèche.
• our protection.
