The meaning of the word 'Zisukhanyo' is 'light'. I want to bring light to my community.

What are you grateful for about your crèche?

I started the crèche without anything, but through perseverance I am still going on after 10 years, even with no funding from the government.

My name is Charity Mokoena. I am a proud parent of Simthondayo Mokoena who is a learner at Zisukhanyo Educare Centre. This institution has been a learning centre for both my kids. I have a 10-year-old daughter who started her education journey here. Today, she is a brilliant learner at school because of the foundation she got from this crèche. The level of education given to her, has also played a role in her being chosen to do an advert of awareness during the Covid-pandemic. Her knowledge of English was due to the commitment of the teachers at this crèche. This is the reason I decided to take my second child there. He can also communicate well in English and as a 2-year-old, he knows so many songs, words and numbers. I would recommend parents to take their kids to Zisukhanyo Educare Centre. The teachers are professional and willing to go the extra mile for their learners. Education is key in this crèche. I am truly fully supportive of every venture they are willing to take. I have never had a problem with the principal and they always communicate on time.

What is the reason behind your crèche's name?

An eagle can always fly high over all clouds and storms and God protects His nest from dangers.

What are you grateful for about your crèche?

I'm grateful for God’s hand on my ECD Centre. He blessed me with a house in 2008, but I didn't understand why in Delft? In 2012 I had a dream wherein a man in white told me that it's time to open a crèche and so, on 15 Jan. 2014 I started Young Eagles Nest Educare. God blessed the crèche in that same month with everything I needed to start an ECD Centre.

I'm also grateful for the chance to be trained by AmazingBrainz and currently I'm using their excellent curriculum at my crèche. By using this, the children have the opportunity to receive whole brain development so that they are school ready by the age of 6.

We are still open after 8 years and God continues to send new kids to this safe haven for children whose parents are at work. I'm grateful to be a blessing to our community in giving love to and building a brighter future for the next generation. It gives me great pleasure.

Objectives

that the municipality will approve our extended building plans.
that the neighbours’ children will stop climbing on the crèche's roof. It causes holes in the tiles that causes the roof to leak.
for mattress covers for the children's mattresses that are being used daily during the cold winter months.

Young Eagles Nest Educare is really helping my child developing her communication skills. They take very good care of my child in terms of the meals they feed her. The staff are always concerned with every learner’s development.

We are the parents of Olungaka who attends crèche at Uthando Day Care. We hereby share our heartfelt opinion regarding our son’s crèche. We find Uthando Day Care very good for the development and foundation phase of children. They are also great at preparing them for entering school. When Olungaka started at Uthando Day Care, he was still very little and only spoke his home language which is isiXhosa. In less than 6 months we noticed that he was fluent in basic English and was starting to learn Afrikaans. Now that he has been with them for a while, he is fluent in Afrikaans as well and we can safely say he has learnt to be multilingual. We also acknowledge the fact that this crèche’s environment is friendly, accommodating and enjoyable to the extent that our child always looks forward to going to crèche. We appreciate it so much.
I am Sondisiwe Ndingani, mother of Usirnele Ndingani, who is now 2 years and 6 months old and has been attending Uthando Day Care since she was 1 year old. The reason she’s still there, is because of the quality of work that this crèche delivers to the kids. It’s amazing; from academic to health. I say this, because my daughter’s speech matches up with 4-year-olds and weight wise her growth is very good. I’m sure they’ve got the perfect diet/meals. The relationship the teachers build with the kids, is amazing, because my child is always excited about going to crèche and enjoys telling me about the lessons (that’s where I get to hear her pronouncing words that would surprise me for her age). Lately, since January this year, I haven’t been working; so, things have been difficult financially, but to my surprise, Mrs. Figland, the principle, told me straight up that I should never keep the child at home due to the financial difficulty that I’m facing now. My child is attending like any other. I sometimes send her without formula milk, some days without fruit or snacks or wet wipes, but she never lacks because she would still brag to me about given these things even though I know as a parent she didn’t have. They go as far as washing their clothes if they mess on them. That for me is how they are going beyond the call of duty. She’s still the very happy child that she was when I was paying and I am forever grateful to Mrs. Figland and her team. If it was not for Uthando Day Care, I wouldn’t have the sanity that I have because they came through for me big time.
Uthando Day Care is a safe haven for our kids, Nqubile, Donny and Danny. They are attending this crèche everyday under safe watching care of good teachers that are teaching our children to read, write and count. They are also provided with healthy meals every day and when they come home from the crèche, they don’t want to eat because they are still full from the meals they got at the crèche. They teach them the way to talk, the way to eat, the way to write, to draw and how to play with other kids. I’m happy for my kids for attending the school. Uthando Day Care is a good place for our children. Please, keep up with the good work. Well done!

My name is Nokuthula Mbinda. I’m the parent of Ngoza Mbinda who is attending United Educare Centre. He is a 4,5-year-old boy and started attending this crèche since he was 1 year old. He is my second child attending this crèche. My other child who attended this crèche, is already in gr. 5. I’m satisfied with this crèche and that is why I keep on sending all my children there. I’m Asivile’s mother and I want to tell you about United Educare Centre. I started to use this ECD in 2013. Asivile is the second child from my family to go to this crèche because I’m very happy with them. They give our children good knowledge and they take care of our children. I am the mother of Enkosi Tyindyana who attends crèche at Thubelitsha Educare. He started to attend Thubelitsha Educare when he was 14 months old and is now 2yrs 5mths. He has improved a lot in terms of playing with other kids - something that he wasn’t doing before. He can count, sing and do everything that he learns at the crèche. He is now friendly with other kids. The children at this crèche are served with breakfast and lunch. Some of the fresh vegetables they are served, comes from the crèche’s own vegetable garden. I can say that they are doing a great job at Thubelitsha Educare. A big thumbs up to the teachers too for taking care of them like they are their own kids - with kindness and love, something that is rare to find these days.
I am Nontobeko Mahlutshana. My child, Limingaye Mahlutshana, attends Thubelithsa Educare. He started there when he was a year old and he is now 4 years old. The care the teachers give him is absolutely out of this world. That is one of the reasons I have kept him there for this long. He knows how to do the morning rings and differentiate between the colours and sing along when they sing.
I am writing this letter, as a parent, to express my sincere appreciation and satisfaction with the excellent care and education provided at Thubelitsha Educare. My daughter, Ngelosi Vokwana, who is 5 years old, started attending the crèche this year and I am extremely pleased with her progress and the overall environment of the crèche. Ngelosi has been enjoying her time at Thubelitsha Educare immensely. She is always eager to go to the crèche, even on weekends, which shows how much she loves being there. The care and attention she receives, are outstanding and I have noticed a remarkable improvement in her understanding of the content taught. She can now name the seasons of the year and the months, both in isiXhosa and English, which is testament to the good teaching she receives. The hygiene standard at the crèche is commendable as Ngelosi always came home clean. It is also worth mentioning that the crèche provides a well-balanced diet ensuring that the children are well fed throughout the day. The presence of a vegetable garden and toys at the crèche has also contributed to her happiness. She can play and learn in a safe and stimulating environment. Additionally, the teaching of verses in both isiXhosa and English, are a valuable aspect of her education. In conclusion, I am truly grateful for the care and education that Ngelosi receives at Thubelitsha Educare. It gives me great peace of mind knowing that she is in good hands and thriving in such a nurturing environment. Thank you for your continued dedication and hard work in providing a wonderful experience for the children.

A sunflower is always looking at the sun as its source of energy and it is always standing tall. So are we looking at our Source of energy and always standing tall. A sunflower is also a happy colour. Our children are still small, like flower buds.

I am the mother of Isaac Maroetsie who attends Sticky Fingers Educare since 2022 and is now in the age group 2-3 yrs. When he started at the crèche, he was still on nappies, but within 3 mths there, he was potty trained. He used a pacifier as well and in no time, he got rid of it too. Sticky Fingers Educare is a well organised establishment and they treat children well and teach them very efficient. My son could already say the days of the week and the months of the year when he was only 2 yrs old. He was a child that didn’t interact or engaged in anything at home, but since attending this crèche, he is a different person. He sings at home and he can identify the different colours as well as the different seasons. I’m very impressed with the impact that this crèche has on my child’s life. The staff is very friendly and always there to help. My eldest daughter also attended this crèche in 2023 and she is doing very well at school. I would recommend Sticky Fingers Educare to the community because I can see what impact they have and how they encourage and educate the children.
We started taking our son, Immathi, to Sticky Fingers Educare in 2021. Ever since that time, we never looked back or decided to take him to another crèche, because of the care and treatment that he receives there. We never have any complains or any arguments with the teachers and principal. If there is a problem, we address it in a good manner. Our son is looking forward to go to the crèche every morning. The crèche’s environment is clean and they make sure they practise good hygiene. The kids also eat porridge every morning. His English is improving every day, he can already count and his writing skills are improving. We know that our son is happy and in safe hands. We would like to say thank you to the principal and the teachers at Sticky Fingers Educare for the contribution that they make in our son’s life.
As Luniko’s parents, we are writing this letter to extend our warm thanks and appreciation towards Sticky Fingers Educare for providing such an impeccable service of protection, raising and providing and giving such an amazing talent to the future of this world through our children. We would also like to appreciate every teacher at this crèche that has put so much effort, personal attention and care towards our son. As parents it is never easy to leave our kids into someone else’s hands, because we always fear that they are never safe, but this crèche has made us believe that they are as safe as they are at their homes. It is so comforting as a parent to see your child not complaining going to the crèche, because he enjoys the friendly atmosphere there. We are extremely thankful that we have chosen you to guide our son on his journey of starting life and making him always feel home whenever he steps through Sticky Fingers Educare’s doors.

What is the reason behind your crèche's name?

Sonwabile means ‘We are happy’. It is a place for children to learn and be happy.

What are you grateful for about your crèche?

I am grateful that my crèche has different cultures’ children – from South Africa and neighbouring countries. We are proud of it, because it gives us the opportunity to learn from other cultures outside our country and, also to learn other languages.
We are grateful, because we create job opportunities for the people of our community.

Objectives

to promote a safe place for children between the age of 0-5 years
to make children feel that they are part of the good citizens in the society
to promote a healthy development lifestyle for both parents and their children from a very young age
to educate parents on how to prevent childhood accidents and other related preventative diseases
to provide a stimulating playtime environment for children
to provide care, guidance and lifelong education to children
to network with other organisations working to promote the rights of children
train children on leadership, problem solving and communication skills so that they can report any illegal act that might jeopardise their lives during and after school as well as in their locations
to work in collaboration with organisations that mainly deal in ECD’s
to expose them to a challenging, informal, stimulating and safe learning environment
we will strive to do everything to the best of our abilities
we can also be open to any criticism
we promise to deliver excellent service in all areas of cleanliness, education and love

Thank God:

that once again, like last year, we receive enough free enriched porridge every month to feed every child at our crèche enough so that they can start the school day on a full stomach and therefore learn maximally.
for feedback from the architect and proposed solutions to our struggles w. r. t. our building.
for keeping our crèche's children safe during the severe storms.
for giving us people who keep on praying for our crèche.

Please pray for:

someone that can help me with a ceiling at the crèche so that it isn't so very cold.
heaters for our crèche.
