What is the reason behind your crèche's name?

Sonwabile means ‘We are happy’. It is a place for children to learn and be happy.

What are you grateful for about your crèche?

• I am grateful that my crèche has different cultures’ children – from South Africa and neighbouring countries. We are proud of it, because it gives us the opportunity to learn from other cultures outside our country and, also to learn other languages.
• We are grateful, because we create job opportunities for the people of our community.

Objectives

• to promote a safe place for children between the age of 0-5 years
• to make children feel that they are part of the good citizens in the society
• to promote a healthy development lifestyle for both parents and their children from a very young age
• to educate parents on how to prevent childhood accidents and other related preventative diseases
• to provide a stimulating playtime environment for children
• to provide care, guidance and lifelong education to children
• to network with other organisations working to promote the rights of children
• train children on leadership, problem solving and communication skills so that they can report any illegal act that might jeopardise their lives during and after school as well as in their locations
• to work in collaboration with organisations that mainly deal in ECD’s
• to expose them to a challenging, informal, stimulating and safe learning environment
• we will strive to do everything to the best of our abilities
• we can also be open to any criticism
• we promise to deliver excellent service in all areas of cleanliness, education and love
• we have a passion to work with children who love children and will see to the need of every child individually
• we can also work under extreme pressure and have excellent communication skills

What extra services do you offer to the children of your crèche?

• daily meals (breakfast + lunch) during crèche hours
• school excursions

What are the most important needs/prayer requests regarding your crèche right now?

Thank God:

• that once again, like last year, we receive enough free enriched porridge every month to feed every child at our crèche enough so that they can start the school day on a full stomach and therefore learn maximally.
• for feedback from the architect and proposed solutions to our struggles w. r. t. our building.
• for keeping our crèche's children safe during the severe storms.
• for giving us people who keep on praying for our crèche.

Please pray for:

• someone that can help me with a ceiling at the crèche so that it isn't so very cold.
• heaters for our crèche.
